• Account information: name, email address, and role (teacher, organisation, or student/parent).
• Teacher profile data: display name, headline, bio, subjects taught, grade levels, teaching mode, location (province, district, city), fee range, WhatsApp number, and profile photo.
• Organisation profile data: organisation name, logo, description, contact details, and teacher roster.
• Inquiry messages: when you send an inquiry to a teacher or organisation, we store your name, email, phone (optional), and message.
• Reviews: star rating, review title, and review body submitted by logged-in users.
• Payment information: subscription plan, transaction reference number, and payment status. We do not store credit card or bank account details — payments are processed by PayHere.
• Usage data: page views, search queries, and click events used to improve the platform.

• To display teacher and organisation profiles to students and parents.
• To deliver inquiry messages and review notifications.
• To process subscription payments and activate plan features.
• To send transactional emails (sign-in links, inquiry notifications, payment confirmations).
• To improve search relevance and platform performance.
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except:

• PayHere — receives order details for payment processing.
• Cloudinary — stores and serves profile photos and uploaded images.
• Resend — delivers transactional emails on our behalf.
• Legal requirements — if required by Sri Lankan law or court order.

Teacher and organisation profiles, including contact details you choose to display publicly (such as WhatsApp numbers), are visible to all visitors of FindTeachers.lk.

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or financial compliance.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information via your dashboard profile settings.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.

We use essential session cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Google Analytics may be used for anonymous usage statistics; this can be blocked via your browser settings.

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are never stored — we use magic links and Google OAuth for sign-in. Payment data is handled exclusively by PayHere and is never stored on our servers.

FindTeachers.lk is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without parental consent.

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be notified by email or a notice on the website. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
